Grocery Pole

After my excursion to the catholic church, I headed east down Silver Spring Road and up on the sidewalk near Sendik's. I couldn't help but hear the attitude of its string inside the pole. Once I got in close, I was able to record what was happening in one ear (the pole) as it related to the other (happenings outside in the parking lot.) Play audio for spot 5.

Stopping into a church sounded at first a little creepy and intrusive, but the time was right to capture a little of what goes on. This recording is one of the best I had of representing the foreground, middle, and background. Play audio for spot 3.
There were only around 6 people scattered around the pews. I think I must have gotten there around 5pm and stayed until it was time to reflect. As I stood out on the steps in front of St. Monica's Catholic Church, getting ready to get on my way, I was able to capture a moment. Play audio for spot 4.

Flag whipping and skiing

Just after 3:30, while walking down the railroad-turned bike path next to N. Wilson Drive I went through a tunnel and came across a friendly skier. I spoke to her about my search for sounds and she was kind enough to let me record her for a bit. Play audio for spot 1.

After getting a good sound of the skis, I went on to walk up Santa Monica Drive only to be lured in by an especially active flag. Play audio for spot 2.
